Jack’s Double-Sided Backdrop
This striking backdrop is featured in the theatre scene of Act II. One side depicts the “Work in Progress” Santa Fe Mountains, while the reverse side showcases Pulitzer’s Foot Crushing the Newsies.

Measuring 8 feet tall by 8 feet wide, the unit is permanently mounted on rolling casters for easy movement and smooth scene transitions. The rental also includes Jack’s Paint Cart, making it an excellent option for efficient backstage operation and dynamic visual impact.

Katherine’s Typewriter
This authentic prop is featured during the “Watch What Happens” scene in Act I, adding period-appropriate detail and character to the moment.

  • Security Deposit: $50

  • Weekly Rental Fee: $50

Wiesel’s Newspaper Cart
This versatile prop is used multiple times throughout the production, adding authenticity and energy to key ensemble scenes. The cart features two crates mounted to the front, which were originally used for staging — including having Morris ride out on them. The base of the cart contains folded newspapers to create the appearance of a larger stack, enhancing the overall stage picture.

The rental includes 55 bundles of newspapers that can be distributed to the Newsies during scenes where they purchase their “papes.”

  • Important Handling Notes:

    • This cart must be pushed on from Stage Left to ensure the back side is not visible to the audience, as it reveals the false newspaper stacks.

    • Newspaper bundles are not to be opened and must remain fully intact.

    • Newspapers are not to be ripped or damaged during “Seize the Day” or any other scene.

  • Security Deposit: $100

  • Weekly Rental Fee: $100

Additional Newspaper Props (Not including the bundles from Wiesel’s Cart)
All additional newspaper props are rented as one complete package. Partial rentals are not available. These props are designed to enhance ensemble scenes throughout the production and maintain a consistent visual aesthetic.

  • Important Handling Note:

    • None of these newspaper props may be ripped, torn, or otherwise damaged during “Seize the Day” or any other scene.

  • Security Deposit: $100 (refundable upon return in good condition)
